If you're in Sedona or Scottsdale, we hope you and your home came through this weekend okay. More than a thousand years ago, the Hohokam dug hundreds of miles of canals across the Valley, by hand, so the river water would go exactly where they wanted it. In 1867, Jack Swilling dug one of those old canals back out, and that ditch helped start Phoenix. This weekend reminded all of us what water does on its own. It takes whatever path it finds. Everything you own will flow somewhere someday, too. A trust is your canal. It says who gets the house and the accounts, on what terms, and it names your successor trustee, the person who gets it all there. The Hohokam dug theirs before the storm. This video is general information. Estate planning rules vary by state, so please talk with an estate planning attorney where you live about your own plan. #EstatePlanning #LivingTrust #ArizonaHistory #Hohokam #ArizonaWeather
